The working world has long been on the cusp of a major digital revolution, and the COVID-19 pandemic has seen many companies significantly rev up their digital efforts to adapt and overcome its unexpected hurdles. Once the pedal is pushed down on a transformation like this, there’s no slowing down – companies that want to succeed must now ensure they’re not left behind.
This ongoing revolution – or REVolution, as we’re calling it – will be the topic of this year’s mCloud Connect, our annual user conference, fittingly being held virtually for its second year starting on September 14, 2021.
As in past years, mCloud Connect will gather leading experts from around the world to discuss the big changes that new technologies are enabling, with an eye this year specifically on critical infrastructure in a post-COVID world. Subject areas will include the role of AI in environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG), the digitalization of oil and gas and, more broadly, the future of digitally connected work.
This year’s keynote speaker is Lucas Joppa, chief environmental officer at Microsoft. Joppa is the first person at Microsoft to hold such a role, and channels his rich background in environmental and data science into a commitment to sustainability with technology at its core. For his efforts, Joppa has been named one of Fortune Magazine’s “40 Under 40” and is an honorary fellow at the UN Environment Program World Conservation Monitoring Center.
Serving as MC for this year’s event is Mark Jeffries, a seasoned host and moderator for events held by some of the most successful companies the world over.
This year, rather than spreading the discussion across three days, mCloud has opted to take fuller advantage of the digital format and host one jam-packed day of discussion. The day’s agenda will include many informative and relevant sessions, with breaks peppered throughout. Highlights include:
- An ESG panel on how technology can help companies pave the road to becoming net zero
- The return of the “fireside chat” with mCloud President, CEO and Co-Founder Russ McMeekin
- A panel on mobile and remote connectivity and how the future of work is about to change dramatically
Want to see what else we have in store? The full agenda will soon be available online.
Last year’s virtual event was a great success, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in this improved format. It’s been a trying year for all of us; we hope this day of exciting, engaging and potentially enlightening discussion will be both fun and insightful for our audience.
Registration is now open online. We hope to see you there!
